Rosa Champman, 56, Was Woman Found Dead At College Hill Courts

Police have released the name of Wednesday's homicide victim at College Hill Courts as Rosa Champman, 56.

Officials continue to investigate the homicide that was discovered at 1312 Cypress Street Court during a routine inspection. During the inspection, Chattanooga Housing Authority employees discovered the body of a black woman. Once on scene the officers reported there were apparent signs that there had been a struggle.  

The exact cause of the woman's injuries are unclear at this time and the cause of death is pending the results of the Medical Examiner’s Office. 

Since foul play was evident, this case is being treated as a homicide, said police. 

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 698-2525.  The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
