Work Set To Begin For Airport Parking Lot Phase 2 Expansion; Enplanements and Deplanements Up

Work is set to begin on phase 2 of providing additional parking at the Chattanooga Airport with the approval on Monday of a contract with Dillard Construction.

Terry Hart, airport president, said work had been completed on taking down Hangar 3, which dated to 1951.

The work will create some 300 new parking spots.

The entire project is anticipated to be complete this fall.

Airport officials also cited a rise in both enplanements and deplanements.

Enplanements went from 22,780 in February of last year to 25,985 this February.

They rose from 29,025 last March to 32,859 this March.

Deplanements climbed from 22,271 in February of last year to 25,650 this February.

They increased from 28,839 last March to 31,675 this March.
