McCallie's T.J. Kemp Makes Professional Lacrosse Debut

T.J. Kemp, a 2010 graduate of McCallie, made his professional lacrosse debut April 19 with the Florida Launch. He is the first McCallie alumnus to play professional lacrosse.

Coached by Stan Ross, the Launch play a 14-game schedule which runs through July 25. In the opener against the Chesapeake Bayhawks on the road, the squad fell 12-8.

Kemp is listed as a midfielder and wears No. 10. At McCallie, he was a High School All-American and a National Merit Semifinalist. He went on to play at the University of North Carolina and earned four lacrosse letters.

The Launch are members of Major League Lacrosse and are located in Boca Raton, Fla.
They are the only MLL team in Florida and play their home games in the stadium on the campus of Florida Atlantic University.

The MLL consists of eight teams: Boston, Charlotte, Chesapeake, Denver, Florida, New York, Ohio and Rochester.
