MURFREESBORO - Two-time defending D-II AA champion Memphis University School and Baylor won semifinal matches Tuesday morning and will meet for the state title Wednesday at 10 a.m. EDT.

MUS defeated McCallie and Baylor stopped MBA by identical 4-0 scores.

“We made some mistakes in the match which you can’t afford to do against a top level team such as MUS, but overall I am pleased with the way we competed,” said McCallie coach Eric Voges.

Coach Philip Johnson’s Baylor squad is in the finals for the first time since 2011.

In the girls’ division, Baylor blanked Harpeth Hall, 4-0, as did Hutchison against GPS.

The last time Hutchison made the D-II AA finals was 2009 when the Memphis team defeated GPS in the semis and Knox Webb in the finals. Baylor goes for its fifth straight girls title.
