The ladies of Notre Dame have looked forward to making the state finals all season and now the time has arrived.

Led by senior and No.1 player Sarah Joyce, Notre Dame swept past Lipscomb Academy, 4-0, without losing a set and lost only 10 games in those four matches.

“To make it to state and play for a championship has been our goal all season,” said Joyce who was on the 2012 state championship team.

“We played great today and will focus on Greeneville tomorrow.”

Sarah Faith Ingell, Mary Margaret Haywood and Jessica Moore also posted wins with Ingell’s victory at No. 2 sealed the team triumph.

“I am proud of what the ladies have accomplished and we will be ready tomorrow,” said Notre Dame head coach Nancy Fox.
