Ivan Riden, Sr.
Ivan H. Riden, Sr., 88, of Harrison, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at home with his family.
Ivan was born on Jan. 9, 1927 in Athens, Tn., and had been a resident of the Harrison area for the past 42 years. He was retired from Mayfield Dairy Farms with over 46 years of service. Ivan was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church for the past 20 years and a member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Martha Riden; four brothers and three sisters.
Ivan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggie Looney Riden; sons Steve (Tracy) Riden, Gary Head and Dwayne (Terri) Riden; daughter Cyndi Riden Pruitt; son, Ivan H. (Wanda) Riden II; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill “Max” Riden and Harold Riden; sisters, Virginia Vandiver and Sara Riden; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 8, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A celebration of life service will follow at 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home chapel with Reverend Randy Bell and Reverend Roger DeHart officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ivan H. Riden Memorial Fund at any Tennessee Valley Credit Union.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
