A newly raised flag on the Veterans Bridge in Chattanooga was donated to honor UTC student veterans.

“These heroes are making the transition from the military to academia, so they may earn degrees in higher education and use their new found knowledge and skill to further serve our great nation,” said Joe Wiram, US Army (Retired) and coordinator of Veteran Student Services at UTC.

Flags on the bridge are purchased by donations made to honor those who have served in the armed forces.  The city of Chattanooga created the program to honor veterans and replace the flags when needed.

A ceremony was held in the River Gallery Sculpture Garden to recognize donors and honorees.
