  • Monday, June 1, 2015

Three thousand guests from across the country are expected to travel to Chattanooga June 8-12, to attend the 43rd annual General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).

The Chattanooga community is invited to attend seminars and worship services, held at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

“Our annual gathering as an Assembly is vital to our strength and growth as a branch of Christ’s church,” said Dr. L. Roy Taylor, stated clerk of the General Assembly. “We are indeed pleased to return to the Scenic City.”

The PCA General Assembly last met in Chattanooga in 2005, 10 years ago.

In addition to business meetings, the assembly includes dozens of seminars and three worship services. Worship services will be held Tuesday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m. with Dr. Bryan Chapell preaching; Wednesday, June 10, at 5 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Smith preaching; and Thursday, June 11, at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Rankin Wilbourne preaching. Seminars will address a variety of issues, including fighting modern-day slavery, developing child-protection policies, dealing with doubt, and strengthening inter-generational relationships.
