Americana Artist Emily Earle To Perform At Chattanooga Market On Sunday, June 28

  • Monday, June 15, 2015

Emily Earle will be performing at the Chattanooga Market, 1829 Carter St., on Sunday, June 28, at 2 p.m. Admission is free. She will also be playing again at the Market on July 19.

Review on Ms. Earle:

Emily Earle is a young woman pursuing a life that is true to her roots and to her dreams. Her quickly-lengthening musical resume--which includes national TV appearances, extensive touring and praise from pros and fans alike--indicates she is finding success.

In 2012, Ms.

Earle competed on Season Three of NBC's "The Voice," where her rousing rendition of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" earned her a spot on "Team CeeLo." But she's no pop diva or made-for-reality-TV poser. Her background, training and experience, along with her strong work ethic and friendly charm, give her a firm place to stand on any stage she chooses. Even if it's with the Muppets (ask her about that one).

Ms. Earle is based in Nashville, building a favorable local reputation as a writer and performer at the Bluebird Cafe and the CMA Music Festival. She has toured Canada and the United States, playing coveted venues like the Soiled Dove in Denver and the Mucky Duck in Houston.  Her talent has led to a feature in American Songwriter magazine and the chance to share the stage with artists such as David Wilcox, Peter Bradley Adams, and as tour support for her uncle, Americana/alt-country artist Steve Earle.

Ms. Earle is from a small Texas town near Lubbock, birthplace of Buddy Holly. Growing up aware of her deep musical heritage, she was especially drawn to country artists like Holly and Cash who were daring enough to take risks, and talented enough to make them pay off.

Her family moved to Colorado just before she entered high school. There she was compelled to pick up the guitar for the first time, in order to perform at a local venue that required acts to play their own instruments. She had found her path, and despite her parent's warnings of the harsh realities of the music industry, she would not be sidetracked.

After graduating within three years from the noted Berklee College of Music in Boston, she honed her ability to connect with audiences through her songs by busking in New York City's subway stations. As a bonus, this also helped pay her rent. To this day she swears it was the best job she ever had. Given the opportunities opening up to her every day, contenders for that title can't be far ahead.
