Bike Chattanooga Rates Set To Change On Wednesday

  • Tuesday, June 30, 2015

Bike Chattanooga, the bike sharing service that allows residents and visitors to rent bikes as annual members or daily riders, will undergo a rate change effective Wednesday.

Annual memberships will reduce in price from $75 to $50 while casual rider membership rates will see an increase from $6 to $8 for a 24-hour access pass, and from $12 to $15 for a three-day access pass. Both annual membership and a 24-hr access passes include an unlimited number of 60-minute trips during the access period.

Annual memberships are available at http://www.bikechattanooga.com/signup. 24-hour passes are available at any of the 33 Bike Chattanooga stations.

The price change is the first since launch three years ago. The rate change for annual memberships from $75 to $50 is aimed to encourage more locals to ride by offering a more affordable price than before.  Annual memberships are suited for local residents to take trips that are too long for walking but not well served by transit, for downtown employees needing to complete lunch hour errands, and college students needing a ride within or beyond campus.

Casual rider memberships are typically enjoyed by visitors and tourists as a way to access and visit various locations Downtown.
