The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce will feature FedEx Chairman and CEO Frederick W. Smith as speaker at its annual meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the Chattanooga Convention Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Mr.
Smith’s keynote will address “What’s Happening in the Global Marketplace.”
“This year has brought both large and small international companies to our city and county and consequently the global marketplace is now of even greater importance to our community,” said Bill Kilbride, chamber president and CEO.
Headquartered in Memphis, FedEx provides customers and businesses worldwide with a broad portfolio of transportation, e-commerce and business services. The $47 billion company consistently ranks among the world’s most admired brands and employers.
“Our annual meeting celebrates a remarkable year for both economic development and growth of our membership even as we redouble our efforts in the new operating year toward other initiatives still before us,” Mr. Kilbride said.
“We continue to focus on the value of chamber membership just as our efforts also center on supporting economic development through workforce development and education, inclusion and diversity and our region’s overall growth.”
Registration for the annual meeting is open until Wednesday, Aug. 12.
