With the Special Olympics World Games approaching on July 25, Capital Toyota, in conjunction with Special Olympics of Tennessee, is raising money, sending volunteers and holding a Special Olympian Party to honor and raise funds for the Special Olympics.  The party will be July 14 at 1 p.m.

During the event, Capital Toyota owner Bob McKamey will present a donation check of $2,500 to Nicole Gonzales, a Special Olympics athlete competing in the 100 meter run, 400 meter relay, and shotput events. Also, Capital Toyota will make a $20 donation for the first 100 service customers that they see on that day.

“We hope to see as many people as possible in here on the 14th,” said Jim Taylor, internet sales director at Capital Toyota, “We want to make the largest possible impact for the Special Olympics, as well as encourage our Team USA Special Olympics athletes as they prepare for the World Games.”

All community members are welcome to attend.

As official automotive partner, Toyota will provide 400 vehicles to help transport athletes and dignitaries at the games, will provide support vehicles for the Unified Relay Across America as the Olympic torch heads to Los Angeles, will work with the Mural Conservatory of Los Angeles to create three large pieces of art celebrating the World Games, and will use its nationwide network of dealerships to raise funds to help more than 300 USA Special Olympians and coaches travel to LA, said officials.
