Britt Jackson Reid, 38, of Hixson, Tennessee, died on Sunday, July 12, 2015, from complications of lung cancer.

Britt bravely battled cancer for 13 months. He was fondly known as “Superman” to his family and friends for his courageous spirit and strong Christian faith.

A native of Memphis, Britt earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Memphis. He was a project manager with TVA, where he had been employed since 1999. Britt was an active member of Dallas Bay Church. He was an avid runner and triathlete. He loved all sports, especially Alabama football and  he enjoyed everything on the water. His family was his pride and joy.

Britt was preceded in death by his mother, Sandy Campbell Reid.

Britt is survived by his wife, Ashley Little Reid; daughter and son, Grace and Jackson; father, Sam Reid and his wife, Anita, and children Natalie and Hunter Keane; sister and brother-in-law; nieces and nephews, Brooke, Chris, Campbell and Cooper Phillips.      

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 15, from 1-4 p.m. at Dallas Bay Church.

Memorial services will be conducted on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Dallas Bay Church.

In lieu of flowers, to honor Britt’s memory, the family would appreciate donations to the Rees Skillern Cancer Institute Memorial Foundation, 2525 DeSales Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37404.  

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
