James Donald Roderick Chambers
Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson said deputies did not have to look far for a suspect when they were called to a burglary on Polk County Avenue.
Patrol deputies and detectives responded to the home around 7 a.m. on Tuesday after the residents found the suspect sleeping on their porch, surrounded by a purse, food items and perfume that had been taken from the residence and two automobiles. Investigators discovered the suspect entered through an unlocked door to the home while the residents were asleep.
James Donald Roderick Chambers, 48, of Northeast Eighth Street, was taken into custody. He has been charged with aggravated burglary, theft over $500, and two counts of auto burglary. All of the property was returned.
Sheriff Watson expressed his appreciation to the residents for their assistance apprehending the suspect. He said, “With their help, deputies were able to clear the case and transport Mr. Chambers straight to jail.”
