Chattanooga Lookouts starting pitcher DJ Baxendale only allowed one run in seven innings, but the Tennessee Smokies  scored three runs in the eighth to down the Lookouts, 4-1.

Before settling into a rhythm Baxendale allowed a RBI single to Wilson Contreras in the fist inning. The righty would allow his next and last hit of the game a batter later to Jacob Rogers.

Baxendale go out of the jam and only gave up two walks the rest of the way before being relieved in the eighth by Jake Reed.

Trailing by a run in the first Levi Michael got the Lookouts back on track quickly with a leadoff double. The infielder would score later in the inning on a Max Kepler RBI single.

Knotted up at one the game would remain scoreless until the eighth inning. In the top of that inning the Smokies offense got on a roll when Bryant Flete led off with a single. Jacob Hannemann followed that up with a single of his own and a stolen base to put runners on second and third with one out. Albert Almora drove in the go-head run a batter later with a ground out to third. The rest of the Smokies runs would be plated on a single and a double.
