To mark the official start of construction, a private dedication and groundbreaking ceremony is planned to celebrate the specially designed community for seniors, Dominion Senior Living of Hixson. Representatives from the Dominion Senior Living corporate office and the Hixson Chamber of Commerce will be present as they break ground on the community that will provide care in a "faith-based, meaningful environment."
Dominion Senior Living of Hixson will provide care for up to 84 residents in 32 assisted living and 32 memory care apartments, across 47,000 square feet.
The property was acquired from Abba’s House, and the church will serve as one of many spiritual partners for the senior living community. Pastor Phillips of Abba’s House will join the leadership of Dominion Senior Living in sharing a few words as the ceremony takes place.
In addition to the groundbreaking ceremony, corporate chaplain John Dee will dedicate the grounds through prayer and will place a Bible with handwritten prayers from company leaders for the future of the community in the foundation of the building. This action shows that their commitment to faith is in every part of the community’s development, said officials.
The dedication ceremony is done at all Dominion Senior Living properties as they prepare their hearts and minds to create a community that cares for seniors in a way that aligns with their mission of “honoring God through service to seniors,” said officials.
The community will strive to meet and exceed seniors’ spiritual, mental and physical needs on a daily basis through technology integration, on-site enrichment activities and professionally trained nurses and caregivers available 24 hours a day.
The community will feature all-inclusive monthly rental rates without a length-of-stay commitment and includes laundry service, transportation services, three home-style meals a day, Wi-Fi, 24-7 surveillance monitoring, personalized care services, life enrichment program, on-site medical assistance, therapy services and more.
