Emmett James Parker, 81, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at his residence.  

A native Chattooga Countian, Mr. Parker was born to the late Jessie Lee and Florence Bowling Parker, on October 2, 1933.  He was Church of God by Faith, a Veteran of Korea, serving in the U. S. Marine Corps, and was retired from Mohawk Industries.  

Mr. Parker was preceded in death by a sister, Emily Parker; and brother, Charles Parker.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Dicey Parker; daughters, Shelia (Doyle) King, Mrs. Donna Blackmon, Ms. Diane Reese and Mrs. Janie Lashley all of Summerville; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31 at 2 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Hutchins and Rev. Terrell McBrayer officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenhills Memory Garden.  Active Pallbearers will be Gene Lashley, Dwight Bowling, Allen Trammell, James Carroll, Tim Grogan, Evan McCurry and Ty Hitchins; Honorary Pallbearers will be the nurses of Heyman Hospice Care.  

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30 from 6-8 p.m.
