Baylor's Trey Freeman Qualifies For 2016 Olympic Swim Trials

For the second time at the 2015 Speedo Junior National Championships Baylor Swim Club / Baylor School athlete Trey Freeman qualified for the 2016 Olympic Team Trials. This time he got the cut in the 400 meter freestyle. His time of 3:56.92 got him fifth overall in the event swimming in the championship finals heat. In his preliminary swim of the 400 free he swam an Olympic Trials qualifying time as well with a time of 3:57.34.

On Friday,  Freeman qualified for the 2016 USA Olympic Team Trials for his first cut in the in the 1500 meter freestyle.
His time of 15:47.03 earned him a victory in his heat, and bested the Olympic Trials cut by almost two seconds. Freeman will now compete in the 2016 USA Olympic Team Trials which will be held June 26-July 3 at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Freeman has two more events remaining at the Speedo Junior National Championships. He will compete in the 200 FR (Aug. 2), and 800 FR (Aug. 3).
