An investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Rutherford County man charged with solicitation of a minor.

While working in an undercover capacity, TBI Agents responded on Aug. 14 to an advertisement on a social media website posted by an individual indicating he was looking for a teen-aged girl for the purpose of sex.  During the course of the investigation, an agent, posing as a minor female, communicated with this individual and the two arranged to meet early Thursday morning in a Murfreesboro parking lot for the purpose of sex.

Agents identified the man who communicated through the ads and responded to the meeting location as Brandon Michael Sopko, 27, of Murfreesboro.

Sopko was arrested Thursday by TBI Agents and taken into custody. He was charged with one count of solicitation of a minor by electronic means. He was booked into the Rutherford County jail on a $7,000 bond.
