New Miller Park District Forum Is Thursday To Review Preliminary Designs

  • Tuesday, August 25, 2015

The city of Chattanooga invites the public to a special forum Thursday to review and give feedback on the community’s visions for a new public space network in the emerging Innovation District. The new Miller Park District will unify Miller Park, Miller Plaza, Patten Parkway, and ML King Boulevard, boost inclusive use, and enhance the value of these historic public spaces, said officials.

The city of Chattanooga and design team have been using surveys, in-person interviews, and face-to-face meetings with nearby residents, businesses, organizations, and park users to inform the future vision and use. Through workshops, people have also shared their ideas for downtown Chattanooga’s new park network, which is in the heart of the city and hub of the Innovation District.

At the forum Thursday, the public will review community input and wish lists for the spaces as well as preliminary designs and programming suggestions. The design team will also be requesting additional feedback and answering questions.

The Miller Park District Public Forum is Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Camp House, 149 E. MLK Blvd.
