Martha Jo Acuff Long died on August 26, 2015. 

She was born in Chattanooga Memorial Park on August 8, 1925 to the late Byrd M. and Agnes Acuff. 

Jo’s family was very special to her and she loved reaching out to all she knew.  Her earthly family and friends will miss her dearly but find joy and comfort that she is being reunited with her heavenly family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Truman Long, son, Wayne M. Long, brother, Wiley M. (Dub) Acuff, sisters, Byrdie Lee Payne and Ruth Jewell Crozier.

Survivors include sons, Clint (Vicky) Long of Nashville, TN, Mark Long of Manchester, TN, daughter, Phyllis Cochran of Maryville, TN, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sisters, Ila Mae Clark and Melba Jean Kidd, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life and faith will be held on Monday, Aug. 31, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 2-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
