Clark S. Jackson, 30, of Hixson, had a untimely death on August 6, 2015.

He was sleeping on the couch at friends’ house in Tuscaloosa, Alabama when smoke inhalation from a house fire crept in and took his life.

We are comforted to know that he just fell asleep and didn’t wake up after he had declared to his friends that he had one of the best nights of his life.

Clark and friends attended an Aquarium Rescue Unit concert in Birmingham. After the show Clark was invited backstage to the Green Room where he held and played guitar legend Jimmy Herring’s guitar and fellowshipped with band members and friends.

We all know that when his head hit the pillow that night that he was a happy grown boy. Clark’s smile and energy will be missed by many.

Clark leaves behind his mother, Jill Wade of Eureka, Ca.; father, Jimmy (Janet) Jackson of Hixson; grandmothers, Beverly Lounsbury and Ruth Jackson Johnson; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends that were his family.

Clark is a member of Abba’s House. He graduated from Red Back High School in 2003 and Atlanta Institute of Music where he honed his skills as a musician and currently was a member of the Chattanooga-based band Soul Mechanic.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel and on Wednesday from 9-11:30 a.m.

Funeral services for Clark will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 11, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ron Phillips, Jr, officiating.  Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by the Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153 Hixson, Tennessee 37343. Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com.
