First Southern League Title In 27 Years

Chattanooga defeated Biloxi, 4-0, in Game 5 of the Southern League Championship series. Jason Wheeler, who took over the pitching for D.J. Baxendale in the sixth inning, went the final four innings. After the Shuckers hit into a game-ending double play, pandemonium broke out on the field as the team celebrated. Many of these players were with the Class-A Ft. Myers team that won their series championship. Doug Mientkiewic was the manager of both teams.
