Erlanger Presents “Stroke Treatment And Prevention” On Oct. 1

Nurse practitioner Jennifer Smith from Erlanger Southeast Regional Stroke Center will be at the South Pittsburg Senior Center on Thursday, Oct. 1 beginning at 5 p.m. (CST) to discuss the latest treatments and advancements in stroke. 

"Our region has one of the highest incidences of stroke per capita in the United States.  On average, a stroke will occur every 40 seconds, and someone will die from a stroke every 4 minutes," organizers said.  "The presentation during the event will educate the community on how to take a proactive approach to reduce the chances of a deadly or debilitating stroke.  Topics include risk factors, signs and symptoms, and lifestyle changes you need to take to prevent becoming one of the statistics.  Attendees will also learn how Erlanger has become one of the leading stroke centers in the nation with research and cutting edge treatment options."
