Flu Vaccine Available Oct. 1 At CHI Memorial Convenient Care In Cleveland

  • Tuesday, September 29, 2015
CHI Memorial Convenient Care will begin offering the flu vaccine on Oct. 1.  Regular flu vaccines will be available for ages 4 and up. Those 65 and older are eligible for the high dose vaccine, which will also be offered at this location.  Most insurance companies will pay 100% of the cost.  The vaccine is $25 for those who don’t have insurance.

You do not need an appointment to receive a flu shot.  All patients must be fever free to get the vaccine.  Anyone who gets the flu shot will be asked to wait about 15 minutes after receiving the shot to make sure there are no adverse reactions.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone age 6 months old and older get a flu vaccine each year. Once you receive the vaccine, it takes about two weeks for your body to develop antibodies and provide protection against the flu.  Flu activity usually peaks between December and February, according to the CDC.

CHI Memorial Convenient Care is open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.  It is in the Mouse Creek - Publix Center at 645 Paul Huff Parkway NW, Ste. 105, Cleveland, Tn. 37312.  Call 423-790-7750 for more information.
