The Georgia Department of Labor will help Roper Corporation, a division of GE, recruit about 80 manufacturing workers for its facility in LaFayette.
The recruitment will be held Thursday, Feb. 4, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the LaFayette Housing Authority at 300 Oak St.
The company, which manufactures kitchen ranges, will be hiring assembly-line workers.
Staff members of the GDOL’s LaFayette Career Center will be available to screen applicants and help the job seekers fill out applications prior to interviews with company representatives. Applicants are encouraged to dress business casual to improve their opportunities for jobs.
Due to federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old. Jobseekers with a high school diploma, General Education Diploma or Georgia Work Ready certification and at least six months of manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply. Others who have scored at least five points on the Work Ready Keys test and have a stable work history of at least five years may also apply.
Salaries begin at $12.30 an hour.
The company will conduct background checks and drug-screening tests on selected applicants.
