HES Offers Low-Cost Vaccine And Wellness Clinics To Local Pet Owners

The Humane Educational Society is collaborating with local veterinarians to offer monthly vaccine and wellness clinics to local pet owners. The aim of the clinics is to educate local pet owners on proper pet ownership and companion care by providing low-cost vaccines and services.

Crucial vaccines such as rabies, canine DAPPv, canine Bordetella, feline 1-HCP, feline Bordetella will be offered. Other services offered at the clinic are heartworm testing, deworming, pet licensing, microchipping, nail trims, and ear cleaning.
Rabies vaccines and pet licenses are required by Tennessee state law and local ordinances, respectively. Low-cost spay and neuter surgery will be offered to those interested in taking advantage of the service.

The first clinic will be held at Soddy Elementary School at 260 School Street, Soddy Daisy, Tn. 37379, on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 2-4 p.m. This clinic will offer rabies vaccines for $10, pet license for $5-$10, canine DAPPv vaccine for $10, canine Bordetella vaccine for $10, canine heartworm test for $25, feline 1-HCP vaccine for $10, feline Bordetella vaccine for $10, dewormer for $5, nail trims for $5, ear cleaning for $5, and microchips for $25. All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in a carrier to receive service. Clinic staff will do their best to accommodate pets with special needs. Individuals will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. Cash, check, and credit/debit will be accepted.

The Humane Educational Society will continue to offer wellness and vaccine clinics within its areas of service changing locations monthly to provide equal access to care. Those interested in finding a wellness clinic near them can visit the organization website at www.heschatt.org/clinic. No clinics will be held in the month of December. The organization's mission is to provide a safe haven for homeless, abused, and neglected animals in our community and advocate on their behalf. The hope is to continue to make Hamilton County a better place for both homeless and owned pets.
