Dale McDowell (aka. McDaddy) of Chickamauga, led all 50 laps of "The Leftover" event at 411 Motor Speedway near Gatlinburg Saturday. The former National Champion of Dirt Late Model racing (1999) crossed the finish line 0.943 seconds ahead of runner-up three-time Lucas Oil; National Champ (11'-13') Jimmy Owens for the $5,000 payday.

"I knew Jimmy was right there on me and I just really was hoping I wasn't going to have to wreck one of those (lapped cars)," McDowell said from victory lane after the race. "It was a little tough coming through there, but it was the same for everybody. So we were fortunate tonight."

The victory was McDowell's seventh overall of the 2016 season in his # 17M Team Dillon Racing, Clements Race Engines, Boydbilt Fabrication, Bad Boy Off Road, University of Northwestern Ohio, Klotz Synthetic Lubricants, Cometic Gaskets, Keyser Manufacturing and Mark IV ATV's sponsored Sweet-Bloomquist chassis, ECR powered Super Late Model.

Owens of Tennessee was piloting Soddy Daisy's Richard Austin-owned A19 machine that he previously drove at McDowell's promoted Boyd's last weekend in Chattanooga.

The feature was slowed by two caution flags, on laps six and eight. Local racer Jason Welshan of Maryville won the Crate Late Model feature. Fast qualifier: Jimmy Owens Time:* 14.763 seconds of 29 entrants.
