Stephen Lewis Whitmire, 32, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died on Monday December 5, 2016, at a Nashville hospital surrounded by loved ones.

In 2008 Stephen was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and fought a hard battle for the past 8 years. Stephen is survived by his wife, Amy; 10 year old daughter, Laynee; grandparents, whom he thought of as parents, Bryon and Pat Hendrix; brother, Alex Whitmire; father and mother-in-law, William and Angie Trotter; Amy’s grandfather, Lane Watson; Amy’s sister, Amber Terrell (Steven) and April Miles (Thomas); and three nephews, Gavin Miles, Griffin Miles and Finnley Terrell.

A celebration of life service is planned for 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW.

The family will be receiving friends two hours prior, from 4-6 p.m.

Companion Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
