Larry “Craig” Reece, 35, died on Monday, February 8, 2016 at his residence in Dawnville, Georgia.

Craig was born February 22, 1980 in Dalton. He was known for his love of dirt track racing and was known to the area as “The Dalton Bad Boy". Reece followed the tire tracks of his father, Larry, taking the seat of the family-owned late model in 1996 before stepping away in 2000 to build his own family. He returned to competition in 2011 in his Ford-powered, National Title Pawn-sponsored No. 74, posting his best season in 2012 with 10 Crate Late Model victories and the combined Dixie-Rome Track Championship title. He also competed successfully at North Georgia Speedway, Cleveland Speedway, Boyd’s Speedway, Fort Payne Motor Speedway and Tri-County Racetrack.

Craig was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Joe “B. J.” Reece, grandparents, Hubert and Aline Hargis, Hobert Reece, Walter and Ruth Roberts; uncles: Keith Hargis, Billy Joe Hargis, Gary Reece, and John Ellis.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Lindsey Reece, three sons, Syd, Logan, and Riley Reece, aunts and uncles, Mike and Linda Lock, Johnnie Kay Ellis, Dewayne and Mary Ann Hargis, Vernon and Kay Reece, Ronnie and Beverly Reece, Rhonda and Wesley Helton, Brenda Reece, Randall and Dreama Spears, Cindy Hargis, Don and Betty Mathis, Sam and Faye Smith, Fred Smith, Troy and Angie Smith, Loise Lance, cousins, who were like brother and sisters to Craig, Dustin Lock, Stephanie Anderson, Adam Anderson, Juleena Collins, Terra Jo Levan, Jason Meeks, Roland Partin-Hargis, Brian Reece, Jonathan Roberts, Bryan Helton, Dewayne Reece, Anthony Reece, Crystal Reece, and Lindsey Guinn, and endless friends.

Visitation will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday. The address for Macedonia Baptist Church is 1355 Dawnville, Road, Dalton.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Larry “Craig” Reece will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Pastor David Eaton officiating. Interment will follow at New Prospect Cemetery.

Cody McCarver, Brian Reece, Mark Defore, Mark “Outlaw” Angel, Dewayne Reece, Jeff Fowler, Roland Partin-Hargis, and Marshall Green will be serving as pallbearers.
