The Lee University Jazz Ensemble performs traditional and recent literature for the traditional big band. The ensemble includes rhythm, saxophones, trumpets, and trombones. A frequent award winner at national festivals, they perform for campus, school, and civic events.

Dr. Warner, assistant professor of music, earned his doctor of musical arts in trumpet performance from Stony Brook University in New York. He performs regularly as a classical, orchestral, commercial, big band, and jazz artist in New York City, where he lived for 15 years. As an advocate for music education for inner city youth, Dr. Warner served as the music teacher at St. Mark the Evangelist School in Harlem, NY.

A pianist, composer, bassist, and educator, Mr. Brown is a part-time faculty member in Lee’s School of Music. He earned his master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He was invited to Meudon, France to record his debut jazz CD titled “Sweet and Lovely.” This CD was released world-wide. Mr. Brown has shared the stage with great artists such as Mike Clark, Jeff Coffin, Essiet Essiet, and Bill Mobley.

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Lee’s School of Music at 423-614-8240.
