School Of Nursing Hosts End Of Life Conversation April 28

  • Tuesday, April 26, 2016

The end of life. It’s one of those conversation’s everyone needs to have but no one really wants.

A panel of guest speakers will guide an "End of Life" conversation and help answer questions on Thursday from  7-9 p.m. at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, University Center Auditorium

 Topics and their speakers will include:

Hospitals and End-of-life, Bob Scheri, Memorial Hospital;

Palliative Care and Hospice, Paige Fletcher, Aspire Health;

Legalities of End of Life, Leah McElmoyl, Chambliss Bahner and Stophel; and

Having the Conversation, Tarron Estes, Conscious Dying Institute.

"Would you like answers to these and other questions?    What if you could understand your own desires for a good death and talk to others about what they value and want most in their final moments?  What if you could increase your caring presence and trust that your presence is enough?  What if you could bring comforting care to those facing death, comfort that goes beyond the curative care they already receive?  What if you knew people in your community who could be there for you in the end, could uphold your spiritual beliefs, and could support you and your family during grief, fear, and loss?," officials said.

Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
