Virginia Haney Long, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. She was 91.

She was the daughter of the late Homer Haney, Sr. and Mabel Atkins Haney and was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harold Schruggs Long and brother, Homer Haney, Jr.

Virginia was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Clark Werner, of Chattanooga, grandson, Mark (Tammy) Werner, of Signal Mountain, granddaughter, Shannon (Chuck) Fogelgren, of Marietta, GA, eight great-grandchildren, sister, Margie Martin, of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 2, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Kirk Werner officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2–6 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, at the funeral home.

The family would like to express a special thanks to all the caregivers at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Collegedale, Avalon Hospice and Care Assist.
