Shirley Dale Hill, 59, of Old Fort, Tennessee, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the family residence.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gregory Cate Hill; brother, Tommy Hill; and sister, Mary Frances Hill.
Shirley was born Jan. 5, 1957 in Bradley County but was a resident of Polk County most of her life. She graduated Polk County High School is 1976. She was employed with American Uniform Company for 28 years and then Hardwick Clothes for 11 years. She enjoyed artistry, woodworking and gardening; being remembered mostly for her beautiful roses. Ms. Hill attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother, Zelda Geneva Hilliard Hill; sisters, Elizabeth “Libby” Hill, Linda Hill, Patty Chord and her husband Dan, Kathy Hill and Steve Core; brothers, Jimmy Hill, Curtis Hill and his wife Karen and Billy Hill and his wife Donna; and nephews and nieces, Jamie Hill, Michael Hill (Sandy,) Kevin Hill, Amanda Hill, Jennifer Patterson (Tyler,) Josh Hill (Lauren) and Hannah Osborne (Jared.)
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Friday, April 29, at 5 p.m. from Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Avenue Chapel with Pastor Charles Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the New Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery at Chata Valley with Dan Chord, Tyler Patterson, Jamie Hill, Michael Hill, Josh Hill and Kevin Hill serving as casket bearers.
The Hill family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
