Maude S. Peden, 98, of Cohutta, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Calhoun Health Care.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Peden; parents, George & Mary Boyd; daughters, Mary Ledford and Betty Bookout; sons, Larry Peden and Bob Peden; sister, Essie Caylor; and four brothers, Henry, Wallace, Frank and Ralph Boyd.
Survivors include four 4 daughters & sons-in-law, Debbie & David Whaley of East Ridge, TN., Brenda & Johnny Brown of Cohutta, Dee & Leslie Green of Dalton and Geneva Ward of Plainville; sons & daughters-in-law, Edward Peden, Darrell & Rita Peden, Waymon & Joan Peden, Eugene & Polly James and David & Betty Peden, all of Cohutta and Ralph Peden of Dalton; two brothers, Billy Boyd and Johnny Boyd, both of Chatsworth; 31 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 2, at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Clayton and Rev. Melvin Cline officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 1 from 6-9 p.m.
