Betty L. Murray, 83, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. 

She was a former member of Avondale Baptist Church for 52 years where she sang in the choir and in a quartet.  She was also active in the Youth Ministry and served as a chaperon.  She was currently a member of Crosspath at East Ridge and the Chapel Sunday School Class.  Betty had a heart for children and was active in the Snack Pack Ministry at Crosspath. 

She was retired from the Better Business Bureau after 28 years of service.

Betty was preceded in death by her sister and seven brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Billy “Joe” Murray; several nieces and nephews as well as several members of the extended Murray family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 6, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell and the Reverend William Jacques officiating.  Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, and from12-1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Snack Pack Ministry at Crosspath at East Ridge, 4201 Ringgold Road, East Ridge, Tn. 37412.
