Concrete Truck Fire Stalls Traffic On Highway 153

  • Friday, June 17, 2016

A concrete truck fire stalled traffic on Highway 153 on Friday morning.

The vehicle was headed northbound between Shallowford Road and Jersey Pike when the blaze broke out.

Plumes of black smoke initially rose from the fire, then it turned to white as it was extinguished.

All northbound lanes were initially blocked, then a single lane was opened.

Motorists said the tanker was off to the side of the roadway.

It appeared as if its tires had also been burned.

The vehicle was hauling 25 tons of dry concrete.
