Velma Masiers
Velma Hixson Masiers, 87, of Hixson, died on Thursday, June 16, 2016.
She enjoyed singing in a quartet and playing piano in churches during her early adult life. Velma worked as a bookkeeper at American National Bank for 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Masiers; parents, Andrew and Sallie Hixson; grandson, Jeremy Reilly and sisters, Alma Hixon and Elsie Lorene Hixson.
Survivors include her daughters, Starr Ledbetter (Randy) and Dawn Bundy (Geoff); grandchildren, William R. Phillips, Heather McGovern, Shaun Phillips (Cyndi), Michael McGovern and David Bundy; niece, Linda Hixon and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 20, at 2 p.m. at Hixson Cemetery.
Visitation is on Sunday, from 5- p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
