Chattanooga Tri Delta Alumnae Chapter Raises $1,262 For Children's Hospital

  • Friday, July 1, 2016

The Chattanooga Tri Delta Alumnae Chapter raised $1,262 for the Believe Campaign for the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger during an event at the Flying Squirrel Bar on June 8.

The Chattanooga Tri Delta Alumnae chapter chose the Children’s Hospital as their philanthropy earlier this year.

In 1999, Tri Delta formed a national philanthropic partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Since we don’t have a St. Jude Hospital in Chattanooga, we really wanted to support a local hospital,” says Julie Jackson, a member of the Tri Delta Alumnae Executive Committee. “The new Children’s Hospital at Erlanger is the perfect cause to support because of the tremendous impact it has on our community’s children and families.”

“The local Tri Delta alums have jumped on board to help build the New Children’s Hospital at Erlanger,” said Jan Cooper, Director of Development at Erlanger Health Foundations. “Their enthusiasm and support have been shown in their actions by taking a tour of the current Children’s Hospital, to hosting an event raising money and awareness at the Flying Squirrel. We look forward to partnering with them as they focus on this important effort that will affect and improve our whole community.”

The new Children’s Hospital at Erlanger will ensure the highest level of care for over one million children across a four-state region and will attract the best medical talent in the world. No other place in the region does more to protect and care for children. Approximately 4,500 children are admitted to Children’s Hospital each year, and more than 100,000 children are seen in the Children’s Hospital Outpatient center a year.

The Flying Squirrel hosts fundraising events for various nonprofit organizations throughout the year. They donate 10 percent of the evening’s sales to the organization, and, in 2016, the Lamp Post Group is matching the Flying Squirrel’s donations for each event.
