James “Big Jim” Lockhart, 69, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday July 19, 2016.
He faithfully served his country in the US Navy. Big Jim was of the Baptist faith. Many knew him as the owner of J&S Salvage and Towing, where he took pride in assisting those in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Katherine Lockhart; and two sisters, Ruth Roberts and Donna Lockhart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Sondra White Lockhart; siblings, Bill (Lynn) Lockhart, Patricia (James) Lance, Barbara (Dean) McCorkle, Betty (R.L.) Belcher, Nancy Lockhart and Wanda (James) Bodie; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, July 21 from 5-7 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN.
A celebration of life service for Big Jim will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday July 22, at Companion Funeral Home, with Brother Rick Cresswell officiating the service. Interment will follow at 11:30 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery, with honors being provided by the United States Navy.
