Darcy Welch Steps Down As Executive Director Of Southern Lit Alliance

  • Tuesday, July 26, 2016
Southern Lit Alliance announced Tuesday that Darcy Welch has stepped down from her post as executive director of the organization.

Mrs. Welch and her family will be relocating to Knoxville, where her husband has accepted a job with the University of Tennessee.

"Mrs. Welch has been an integral member of the organization for the last eleven months, first as a consultant, then as its executive director," officials said. “While we are extremely happy for this opportunity for Darcy and her family, we can’t help to be saddened by her departure.
Darcy’s leadership has re-energized our organization, whether it be in the re-branding and restructuring of our literary festival with the Fellowship of Southern Writers or the expansion of our outreach programs in the community. She was an outstanding director and we will miss her greatly.”
