Dennis Smith
Dennis Lamar Smith, 61, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, July 24, 2016 in a local hospital.
He was a graduate of Howard High School class of 1973 and served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, William “Jake” Young; grandmother, Laura Woodruff; brother, Rickey “Smitty” Smith; step-father, Leonard Jackson; uncles, Thomas Davis and Walter Davis; aunt, Pearl Lowe; nephew, Ledale Lyle; and cousin, Liz Dean. Survivors include wife, Donna McKinney Smith; mother, Ruby Smith Jackson; son, Radale (Dumonic) Davis; step-daughters, Stacy (Edward) Jones, Tasha (Kenneth) Williams; sisters, Wanda (David) Lyle, Denise Deere, Delphine (Gregory) Appleberry, Angelia (James) Westmoreland, and Tanza Smith Freeman; brothers, Todd Smith and Lawarren (Cheryl) Smith; sisters-in-law, Pattia, Valerie and Yahunna; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and many friends.
Visitation is on Saturday, July 30, from 7-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, July 31, at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor George E. Woodruff, Jr. as the eulogist.
Burial will be on Monday, Aug. 1, at 11:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
