Former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football student-athlete Derrick Lott signed with the NFL’s Oakland Raiders this week.  Lott played three seasons at UTC (2012-14) after transferring from Georgia.

Lott signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2015, but eventually spent the season on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad.  He briefly joined the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason before being signed by Oakland.

Lott (6-4, 315) was a first team All-Southern Conference player as a senior at UTC in 2014.
He played in 29 games in his career and had 115 tackles and eight sacks.

Lott is one four Mocs currently on an NFL roster.  Others include Buster Skrine (2007-10) with the N.Y. Jets, Chris Lewis-Harris (2008-11) with the Cincinnati Bengals and Davis Tull (2011-14) with the New Orleans Saints.

UTC opens the season on Thursday, Sept. 1, with a home game against Shorter at 7:00 p.m. (E.D.T.).  Tickets are on sale now on GoMocs.com or by calling the UTC Ticket Office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627).
