Mocs Football Opens Training Camp Wednesday

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team is set to begin Training Camp for the upcoming 2016 season.  Practice starts Wednesday, Aug. 3, with a 3:00 p.m. session at Scrappy Moore Field. 
 
The Mocs are coming off another outstanding campaign is 2015.  UTC posted a 9-4 overall record, won its third consecutive Southern Conference title and finished with a school-record-tying No.
8 national ranking. 

 
Camp runs until Saturday, Aug. 20, just before the start of the fall semester.  The first day in shoulder pads is Friday, Aug. 5, and the first day in full pads is Sunday, Aug. 7
 
The Mocs have three two-a-days on Aug. 11, 15 and 17.  The two scrimmages of the preseason are at Finley Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 4:30 p.m.and Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7:45 a.m.
 
Be sure to mark your calendars for Meet the Mocs at the Market on Sunday, Aug. 21.  The Market takes place each Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.in the First Tennessee Pavilion next to Finley Stadium.  The Mocs will be on hand on the 21st, signing autographs and taking photos with fans in attendance. 
 
UTC is 19-3 in SoCon play over the last three years and has a 27-12 overall record during that time.  It is the most successful three-year run in school history and just the second time in the 108 years of Chattanooga football that the Mocs have won three-straight league titles.
 
The season opener is set for Thursday, Sept. 1, at 7:00 p.m. (E.D.T). when UTC hosts Shorter at Finley.  Tickets are on sale now on GoMocs.com or by calling the UTC Ticket Office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627).
