The Union Gospel Mission To Host Free BBQ Lunch On Labor Day

  • Thursday, August 25, 2016

The Union Gospel Mission on Thursday announced their plans for their Labor Day Fund Raiser serving free BBQ plate lunches to the general public; donations will be accepted/encouraged.

UGM's director, Rev. Jon Rector said, “Last year’s Labor Day BBQ was a great success! Accepting generous donations from those who could give, while introducing our ministry to others and making new friends was quite exciting.

Best of all was watching everyone enjoy hundreds of pork or chicken BBQ plate lunches, complete with cole slaw, baked beans, bread and an ice cold drink and even a dessert! This year promises to be even better and will allow us to continue God's ministry of meeting the needs of Chattanooga's homeless. Through the donations of those supporting our Labor Day BBQ fundraiser, the continued success of “Meeting Needs, Making Change, and Magnifying Christ!” will have exponential results which makes any donation the best investment one could ever make.”

The Labor Day event will be taking place on Sept. 5, from 12-4 p.m. (or as long as there's food) in the parking lot of, New Haven Baptist Church, at 1058 Graysville Road, just off of East Brainerd Road across from the CVS, behind the Mapco.
