Cannon, Benjamin Robert "BR" (Riceville)

Benjamin Robert “BR” Cannon, 68, of Riceville, Tennessee, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 in a Chattanooga hospital.  

He was a member of the Zion Hill Church of God in Cleveland, TN. He served many years as a Bradley County deputy under Lamar Lawson and later retired from Schering Plough after many years of service. His passions include old cars, horses and his friends and he was an avid civil war buff.

Mr. Cannon was the son of the late Robert Coy Cannon and Geneva Duncan Cannon.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Yates Cannon, who was the love of his life; sister, Shirley Hannah of Renick, WV; brothers-in-law, Robert Yates and James Yates; sisters-in-law, Pam Wilcoxon and Brenda Ratcliff all of Old Fort, TN; nephew, Paige Hannah of Renick, WV; niece, Tammy Hannah of Front Royal, VA; aunt and uncle of Tabor City, NC; several cousins in NC and SC; and many, many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Wednesday Aug. 31 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.

The family will also receive friends at Inman Funeral Home in Tabor City, NC from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2. Interment will follow at Forrest Lawn Cemetery.

Ralph Buckner Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
