Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will waive entrance fees to Point Park, atop Lookout Mountain, between Thursday, Aug. 25, and Sunday, Aug. 28.
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park’s staff will be celebrating the National Park Service’s 100th birthday on Aug. 25. The public is invited to participate in a ranger-guided tour, take in the scenery, or hike one or more of the many park trails on Lookout Mountain, in Chickamauga Battlefield or at Moccasin Bend.
Additionally, on Aug. 27, visitors are invited to Chickamauga Battlefield to watch a doubleheader vintage base ball game at noon and 2:30 p.m., where players follow rules harkening back to the 1860s. This event would not have been possible without the support of Friends of the Park and Eastern National.
These fee free days provide opportunities for individuals and families to take an affordable day or more to explore one of the 412 national park sites across the country.
