The Mocs played well on both sides of the ball in Saturday’s 34-0 win against visiting Presbyterian College at Finley Stadium

UTC quarterback Alejandro Bennifield threw for 279 yards (11-15-0) and four touchdowns,  … … Derrick Craine rushed for 118 yards on nine carries to go over 2,000 yards for a career … Xavier Borishade caught a career-best three touchdown passes …

The Mocs defense limited the Pale Hose to under 200 yards total offense

 Bennifield threw 4 TD passes for the second week in a row ..

 14 Straight Games: James Stovall, who caught three passes for 61 yards, has now caught at least one pass in a current team high of 14 straight games.

Xavier Borishade had scoring receptions of 35, 65 and 68 yards.

2,000 Yards: UTC’s Craine went over the 2,000 career rushing mark Saturday and now has 2,076 yards. No. 10 on the all-time Mocs rushing list is Carey Henley with 2,258 yards.

100 Yards by Air and Land … Borishade caught three passes for 168 yards and Craine rushed for 118 yards.

Last Time Back to Back Shutouts – The Last Time the Mocs posted back-to-back shuout wins was 1964 … The Blue and Gold defeated Tenn. Tech 18-0 (Sept. 15) and East Tenn. State, 7-0, (Oct.3) .. last time Mocs opened the season with consecutive shutouts was 1960, blanking Jax State (Ala.) 35-0 (Sept. 16) and Abilene Christian (Texas), 21-0 (Sept. 23) ..

Last time a Mocs team had three straight shutout wins in one season was 80 years ago … 1936 against Mercer (6-0, Nov.7), The Citadel (13-0, Nov. 17) and Howard (now Samford …., 6-0, Nov. 26)

Good Mocs Defense

UTC held PC offense to 86 yards rushing on 41 attempts (2.1) and 110 yards through the air …

Mocs had four QB sacks and recovered one fumble … Vantrel McMillian had 2 QB sacks, while Keionta Davis and Justin King had one each … McMillan also had five tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble ... Tae Davis also had one forced fumble …

Lead Tackler ... Dale Warren and Montrell pardue led the team with eight each.

PC Defense: Khari Rosier led the Blue Hose with eight tackles and had 1.5 QB sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss … Steve Osondu had five tackles and one tackle for loss.

Mocs Offense: Six Mocs carried the ball as Craine led the way with 118 yards, Ricahrdo Bagley had 66 … Six Mocs caught at least one ball with Borishade and Stovall leading the way with three each … Bagley had two catches followed by Tyler Roberson, C.J. Board and Bingo Morton with one each.

PC Notes:

Long Kick: Presbyterian kicker Brett Norton had a career long 64 yard punt in the first quarter .. he averaged 43.8 yards per kick on 12 punts and had six punts land inside the Mocs 20 yard line.

Chattanooga Native Runs Well: PC running back and Chattanooga native Darrell Bridges had 89 rushing yards on 18 carries. He was an all-state running back at Ridgeland HS in 2012.
