Melody Shekari, democratic nominee for Congress in the Tennessee Third District, will address East Tennessee democrats at the annual East Tennessee Labor Day Picnic on Labor Day. The picnic will be held at the Roane County Park at 3515 Roane State Hwy. (Hwy 70). The picnic will take place between noon and 3:30 p.m. and feature leaders and activists from across the state. It is expected that Shekari will speak between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
"Ms. Shekari grew up in Chattanooga and has crossed the district speaking with voters who have made it clear they want a congressperson who is not beholden to lobbyists and works for them and not Washington elites," officials said.
