Suspicious Package Checked Out On The Walnut Street Bridge

A suspicious package was checked out and "rendered safe" on the north end of the Walnut Street Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

 

At 4:04 p.m., the Chattanooga Police Department received a call about the package.

 

The Chattanooga Police Bomb Squad responded to the scene.

 

 

Chattanooga Police Bomb Squad technicians cleared a portion of the immediate area of Coolidge Park and treated the package as a threat until it could be confirmed otherwise.

 

The north end of the Walnut Street Bridge was closed off as a precaution.

 

CPD Bomb Squad technicians rendered the package safe and no l Squad Technicians the package was no longer a threat.
